House Hunting...!

One of the tough tasks for me, atleast now, is to find a good and also affordable house, ofcourse for me. It is not an easy task to buy a flat/independent house with the budget we have. There are a lot of things which we need to think before we go on. It should be well connected with the city major places, nearby hospitals, temples, especially for elderly people(Parents/GrandParents), supermarkets/shopping places, hotels, bus/auto/share-auto and ofcourse, schools, yes I have a daughter.

Added to the above, most importantly, it should be well within our budget. Even, at the last moment of signing the agreement, we normally tend to look at the other projects/places which looks more convincing for us to opt for that.

Currently Iam experiencing this for the last one month. Lets continue with this feeling and will try to freeze this as early as possible.

My Dearest 'Music'...my Heartiest wishes on your National Award, 2010!

Iam very happy and glad to share that my one and only favourite music director has won the 57th National Award in the category of 'Best Background Score', in which he is the one and only 'King' who can create more magic than anyone else in the world or atleast as genius as world musicians like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, James Horner and so on. But as far as Indian Music/Film Industry, he is The Best music director in the category of 'BGM-Background Music', there is not even a second thought about it.

Today Iam very much excited and felt like elevated the moment I read the news in the net.

Incidentally, he is the first winner of the award in this category which has been introduced only this year. Nevertheless to say, he is the most appropriate and worthy person to receive the award, the first in this category in the Indian Film Industry.

This is my first blog about my 'Musical Genius', am very fortunate and happy to start with a big bang!

None other than "Ilayaraja", the Maestro, Musical Prodigy, an upstanding man in Music! Congratulations, my dearest music director/composer/creator....Iam touched!

Lots more to come...

'Euro'pean Experience

I never ever expected to go around Europe, atleast not these many countries, six. Am very fortunate to visit all these places. My stay, here for about 3 months (yes, still am here in NL) and will be back to Chennai on 09th Oct. Even though it is not possible atleast for me) to explain my experience in words, still will try to do it.

Every country has its own flavour and history, which is clearly evident. One of the most common places in all the countries is the Cathedral/Church. But, its one of the first tourist attractions with a lot of architectural excellence and a justified reason behind it. It is more or less like Temples in India.

Apart from these, there are other attractions like, in the Netherlands, ofcourse Amsterdam, Madurodam, Utrecht-Parliament house & other official buildings, the world famous Windmills, Cheese factory, Canal drive, Blue Pottery factory, the famous SAIL event which normally takes place once in 5 years in Amsterdam, Madamme Tussade, in Berlin, Parliament House, Berlin TV Tower, Charlie Check point, Berlin Wall; in Switzerland, ofcourse the famous Alps, Mont Blanc rope car, Red train journey, Geneva Lake, Lausaunne, Ouchy port, Musee Olympicia, Roman stonhenge dated back to 15 B.C,; in Belgium, Harbour, the Palace, the famous Minekkin Pis, Belgium Atom; in Spain, beautiful Barcelona city, the landmark Olympic stadium('92), Gaudi's work/museum, lovely beach, the palace, etc; in Paris, ofcourse its obvious, the eiffel tower, Monalisa meuseum, Napolean's grave, Champs-Elysess and other landmark places.

Iam very fortunate to visit all these places. After seeing all these places, I have a strong feeling that there are a lot of improvements, care towards our valuable monuments, buildings, places...etc.

Let me cherish all these memories...

A Visionary, in the name of my Grandpa!

"Memories are the real gifts to take us back to our good golden days & people."

...I was very close to him, I did a lot of things to him like taking care of his medicines, house hold activities, counting coins/rupees, taking care of his shelf/locker to keep things..etc. He was a master craftsman in his field of work, the favourite 'Cooking'. He could do almost all types of breakfast Idli, Dosa, Chappathi, Poori..etc and all varieties of rice/lunch.

He was very good at making sweets. I can never forget the days when he used to give me sweets like Badam Halwa, Laddu, Jeera Poli.. on weekends. The moment he enters the house he would distribute the sweets and he would do it very happily and whole heartedly. He was always to be more energetic and also would like to share his enthusiasm to others and expect the same from others. He never ever felt on his age, before involving in a tough work or heavy work.

He was a god-belief man and lived his life without any bad habits. Even, today whenever I listen to a particular devotional songs/slogams, automatically my mind gets connected with his memories. He was more enthusiastic and energetic during the month of June-July. He involved himself in doing cover work for all the notebooks & textbooks for all of us. He would do it perfectly and would take utmost care in completing the task. He enjoyed every moment of the work wherever he was involved in cooking, house-keeping, kids work, devotional..,

He showed very much interest and also loved to call me as Vijayakumar, ofcourse Kannan too. Whenever he calls me so, you could find sense of closeness & pride on him.
He was very happy and fulfilled man on the day when I showed my under graduation degree certificate to him and got his blessings.

Very often, Iam getting dreams about him like speaking to him, just watching his actions or listen to his speech/actions..somehow I feel that he is driving me day by day with a lot of changes/growth in my life which he wanted to see it in his lifetime itself, but its very unfortunate for me, not able to share my growth with him. Last week, I had a dream where I was talking and listening to him, he was sitting in his 'Kalla Petti'(cashier counter/chair). That was nice.

He suffered a lot in his early age, early-middle & old age because of his health conditions and family was also not economically sound. He ventured in hotel business along with his beloved and respected brother. Those days were really a nightmare for him to run a good life. Later, he was a happy & relaxed person between his 48 and 68. But, thats the period he has completely involved himself in the expansion of the entire family of arranging more than 15 marriages for both sons & daughters, studies of more than 12 grand children, business expansion, properties and other major family functions.

Still I remember the places where he used to sit and rendered all the slogams, pooja, reading books..etc Whatever the life we have today, he was the one who sowed it properly and had a vision to grow the entire family.

He is always THE MAN of the MOMENT/MEMORIES, Mr. Sthanu Iyer!

Lot of memories on him to cherish, trying to keep my memories as fresh as possible to get his blessings to make my life more successful and meaningful.

King of Voice...Golden Voice!

What a rendition! Its very dynamic and very energetic voice, but also soft and mesmerizing!
First song in "Enthiran", Puthiya Manitha...its not a great or a unique song, but the rendition and the lyrics are really good. Even, to uplift a good lyrics, you should have a good voice. At 65, the voice is very unique, soft, dynamic..etc.,most importantly a perfect pronunciation.
I like the song, just for his mellifluous voice.
SPB...a true legend in music!

If...scenario

What I would have done if I had not come to Amsterdam for 3 months?
I would have lived my life with my one and only daughter/family and ofcourse Work, as usual!

...just kidding!

It is one of the phrases which is being used by everyone, almost everyone on a daily basis. What does it mean? Does it talk about joking? Fun? Casual comments? lighter side of a discussion? Jest?...etc.it goes on..on and on!
But, its a FACT! Yes, it is.
It is not a 100% fact, but there is a minimum percent of truth or fact into it. That's in the bottom most layer of the context.
It may not be an intentional comment about the opponent and also, it may or may not hurt others, but its the talent of the speaker who wants to convey the essence of his/her opinion/comments in a very subtle way.
So, if you come across any such ...kidding..,just rewind the context and have a look where you need to improve or how far it is relevant for you! Don't leave just like that.

Unmindful days...

...those days were really unmindful days for me, especially for us(Strong Six). We didn't have any clear direction what to become in life, in which field, in which place, in which company...even we haven't dreamt about it until our final year, even to more precise, until our final semester.

But, still we were good at academics, culturals, sports, fun zone...etc, you just name it, we were very much part of it. Still, I remember the day when we were asked to tell about our future (or even call it as ambition) higher studies or field. Me and Bala were discussing and commenting on others. Suddenly we both had discussed and decided to tell our future/higher studies...Astro Physics & Electro Physics, which was very impressive and interesting for others, even for Muthukrishnan who was our professor.
I(even we)never forget this incident...yes, those days were unmindful days for us. This was one such incident in those days.

We were literally enjoying our college days way back in 1995, till 1998 which was our under graduation days. We participated in almost all the cultural events, sport events, team picnic and ofcourse welcome/farewell parties. It was clearly evident that we were doing good and succeeding in almost all our ventures/steps..like good at culturals, won quite a few medals in sports, maintained the top ranking slot for couple of times in a few subjects/practicals in academics, started learning computer programming language and ofcourse very good at making fun of others, its a great fun zone. So, we were not very sure what we wanted to be, neither in higher studies nor job.

Various talents in our group. Starting from Mathan, he was very focussed on his job and to get an another good job with his studies/degree whatever he was doing, importantly along with us. Yes, that was his situation to carry on with his part time job and studies and all of us knew the reason behind it.
Rams, he was our guru, only for academics. Very good at Maths, I would say, Brilliant. Most of the times, he was the first in Maths. Bala and Partha, very good at Cricket(not like me).
Bala, still he is a good singer and especially, I have shared a lot of things on music(different kind of music forms) with him & also with Mathana. Partha, also good at atheletics and I have shared more space with him on track events, especially.
Gayathri, very friendly and very good at academics. She was the copy writer for us on various subjects, especially Mechanics & Maths.

Last, but not the least its me. I was not an expert in any of the above said areas like others, but I did almost all the things, irrespective of the success ratio. Yes, I played cricket, but not like Bala & Partha. I had scored good marks in Maths, but like Rams & Gayathri. Even though I was(am) a good singer to some of the known group(not like Bala), but I shared a lot of interests on music with him. Unlike Mathana, I was not in a position to know my strengths on a job.

But, still I involved myself in all the above areas of interest, like culturals, cricket, atheletics, academics and of course fun is one of my top interests which was driving me to take up with lot of challenges/shades.

With these range of activities, interests, expertise..etc, we were not sure what would be our next move in our life to become!? As I said earlier, we haven't dreamt about or discussed about very seriously.

...those days were unmindful days, yet, still those are all part of my train of thoughts!

...Point of view

In general, we are not very stubborn in continuing with all our tasks or activities which we want to do it always/regularly or things which attract us to do it regularly. For me, this is one of such things, BLOGging.
Really I like it very much, the reason being is to pen down your thoughts on various topics, things we see/hear/read/experience it on our daily life.
Why should we do it? Is it important? Not really, but it gives you a platform where you can share your thoughts,opinion,views...etc, in a healthy way. Readers can gain some useful information by reading/searching blogs on their interested field/area without entering into others personal life/comments, as it gives/shares only information/experience by an unknown person's point of view.
If you like it, appreciate with your comments otherwise leave it.

Back with a bang...

...its almost a year since I did my last blogging which was apparently my first one!
Always want to do a lot of things regularly, but sometimes will end up in doing very less in numbers. This is the one of the things which I wanted to do it for myself regularly.
Better late than never...will try to do it as much as I can.
