My Dearest 'Music'...my Heartiest wishes on your National Award, 2010!

Iam very happy and glad to share that my one and only favourite music director has won the 57th National Award in the category of 'Best Background Score', in which he is the one and only 'King' who can create more magic than anyone else in the world or atleast as genius as world musicians like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, James Horner and so on. But as far as Indian Music/Film Industry, he is The Best music director in the category of 'BGM-Background Music', there is not even a second thought about it.

Today Iam very much excited and felt like elevated the moment I read the news in the net.

Incidentally, he is the first winner of the award in this category which has been introduced only this year. Nevertheless to say, he is the most appropriate and worthy person to receive the award, the first in this category in the Indian Film Industry.

This is my first blog about my 'Musical Genius', am very fortunate and happy to start with a big bang!

None other than "Ilayaraja", the Maestro, Musical Prodigy, an upstanding man in Music! Congratulations, my dearest music director/composer/creator....Iam touched!

Lots more to come...

'Euro'pean Experience

I never ever expected to go around Europe, atleast not these many countries, six. Am very fortunate to visit all these places. My stay, here for about 3 months (yes, still am here in NL) and will be back to Chennai on 09th Oct. Even though it is not possible atleast for me) to explain my experience in words, still will try to do it.

Every country has its own flavour and history, which is clearly evident. One of the most common places in all the countries is the Cathedral/Church. But, its one of the first tourist attractions with a lot of architectural excellence and a justified reason behind it. It is more or less like Temples in India.

Apart from these, there are other attractions like, in the Netherlands, ofcourse Amsterdam, Madurodam, Utrecht-Parliament house & other official buildings, the world famous Windmills, Cheese factory, Canal drive, Blue Pottery factory, the famous SAIL event which normally takes place once in 5 years in Amsterdam, Madamme Tussade, in Berlin, Parliament House, Berlin TV Tower, Charlie Check point, Berlin Wall; in Switzerland, ofcourse the famous Alps, Mont Blanc rope car, Red train journey, Geneva Lake, Lausaunne, Ouchy port, Musee Olympicia, Roman stonhenge dated back to 15 B.C,; in Belgium, Harbour, the Palace, the famous Minekkin Pis, Belgium Atom; in Spain, beautiful Barcelona city, the landmark Olympic stadium('92), Gaudi's work/museum, lovely beach, the palace, etc; in Paris, ofcourse its obvious, the eiffel tower, Monalisa meuseum, Napolean's grave, Champs-Elysess and other landmark places.

Iam very fortunate to visit all these places. After seeing all these places, I have a strong feeling that there are a lot of improvements, care towards our valuable monuments, buildings, places...etc.

Let me cherish all these memories...

A Visionary, in the name of my Grandpa!

"Memories are the real gifts to take us back to our good golden days & people."

...I was very close to him, I did a lot of things to him like taking care of his medicines, house hold activities, counting coins/rupees, taking care of his shelf/locker to keep things..etc. He was a master craftsman in his field of work, the favourite 'Cooking'. He could do almost all types of breakfast Idli, Dosa, Chappathi, Poori..etc and all varieties of rice/lunch.

He was very good at making sweets. I can never forget the days when he used to give me sweets like Badam Halwa, Laddu, Jeera Poli.. on weekends. The moment he enters the house he would distribute the sweets and he would do it very happily and whole heartedly. He was always to be more energetic and also would like to share his enthusiasm to others and expect the same from others. He never ever felt on his age, before involving in a tough work or heavy work.

He was a god-belief man and lived his life without any bad habits. Even, today whenever I listen to a particular devotional songs/slogams, automatically my mind gets connected with his memories. He was more enthusiastic and energetic during the month of June-July. He involved himself in doing cover work for all the notebooks & textbooks for all of us. He would do it perfectly and would take utmost care in completing the task. He enjoyed every moment of the work wherever he was involved in cooking, house-keeping, kids work, devotional..,

He showed very much interest and also loved to call me as Vijayakumar, ofcourse Kannan too. Whenever he calls me so, you could find sense of closeness & pride on him.
He was very happy and fulfilled man on the day when I showed my under graduation degree certificate to him and got his blessings.

Very often, Iam getting dreams about him like speaking to him, just watching his actions or listen to his speech/actions..somehow I feel that he is driving me day by day with a lot of changes/growth in my life which he wanted to see it in his lifetime itself, but its very unfortunate for me, not able to share my growth with him. Last week, I had a dream where I was talking and listening to him, he was sitting in his 'Kalla Petti'(cashier counter/chair). That was nice.

He suffered a lot in his early age, early-middle & old age because of his health conditions and family was also not economically sound. He ventured in hotel business along with his beloved and respected brother. Those days were really a nightmare for him to run a good life. Later, he was a happy & relaxed person between his 48 and 68. But, thats the period he has completely involved himself in the expansion of the entire family of arranging more than 15 marriages for both sons & daughters, studies of more than 12 grand children, business expansion, properties and other major family functions.

Still I remember the places where he used to sit and rendered all the slogams, pooja, reading books..etc Whatever the life we have today, he was the one who sowed it properly and had a vision to grow the entire family.

He is always THE MAN of the MOMENT/MEMORIES, Mr. Sthanu Iyer!

Lot of memories on him to cherish, trying to keep my memories as fresh as possible to get his blessings to make my life more successful and meaningful.

King of Voice...Golden Voice!

What a rendition! Its very dynamic and very energetic voice, but also soft and mesmerizing!
First song in "Enthiran", Puthiya Manitha...its not a great or a unique song, but the rendition and the lyrics are really good. Even, to uplift a good lyrics, you should have a good voice. At 65, the voice is very unique, soft, dynamic..etc.,most importantly a perfect pronunciation.
I like the song, just for his mellifluous voice.
SPB...a true legend in music!

If...scenario

What I would have done if I had not come to Amsterdam for 3 months?
I would have lived my life with my one and only daughter/family and ofcourse Work, as usual!

...just kidding!

It is one of the phrases which is being used by everyone, almost everyone on a daily basis. What does it mean? Does it talk about joking? Fun? Casual comments? lighter side of a discussion? Jest?...etc.it goes on..on and on!
But, its a FACT! Yes, it is.
It is not a 100% fact, but there is a minimum percent of truth or fact into it. That's in the bottom most layer of the context.
It may not be an intentional comment about the opponent and also, it may or may not hurt others, but its the talent of the speaker who wants to convey the essence of his/her opinion/comments in a very subtle way.
So, if you come across any such ...kidding..,just rewind the context and have a look where you need to improve or how far it is relevant for you! Don't leave just like that.
